"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

I haven't been here in three and a half years. Guess I've been busy with work. Since I closed my portfolio, I figured I should upload some stuff, but most things I have I either uploaded already or aren't worth uploading. At least I still blog!
How dare they say your method was too hacky? Their suggestions don't even work, and the whole point of making the blank gif was so that writers wouldn't have to use space after space after space! That was innovative thinking, and they called it HACKY! HUMPH!
